Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and monstrous changes echo through the darkness." The narrative presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret sect.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar tests and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime properties. The series earlier featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that clearly nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
